What I See: The Beauty Surrounding Me

An art exhibit by Debbie Norton

Birds FlightingThe CWSGR will be exhibiting What I See: The Beauty Surrounding Me, a photography exhibit by Debbie Norton in the Summer 2002. According to Ms. Norton, "Over the past 20 years, as a working mother of three, my hobbies have mostly been limited to what my children were interested in. However, the one hobby I could maintain throughout was 'picture-taking'. Recently, I've been working to develop this 'eye' for a more professional and polished look. This is what you will see displayed at the Center. I want this exhibit to reveal my growth from a young, insecure girl to a more mature and content woman. I am comfortable with myself and my expression of beauty. For me, my photography reflects the beauty that I see in all my surroundings. If you take just a moment, you too can find that beauty around you even in the simplest of things."

Debbie's art was on display in the Center for Women's Studies and Gender Research, 3324 Turlington Hall, from May 10th to August 9th, 2002.
